There's something very satisfying about growing your own herbs. We trimmed the top off of a basil plant, watered it, and found this little surprise.

When the new New York Times tower goes up, this view will probably also be obscured forever.
Soon, this view will be obstructed by two large skyscrapers. Click the image below for a larger version.
I don't care for the summer crowds, but I enjoy looking up at the buildings that tower above them.
