I guess I could pay $10 and up for those framed pictures that street vendors sell.
I'm in the slow, agonizing process of cleaning up my apartment, a delayed spring cleaning. As bare patches begin to show themselves on the floor I've started to notice the bareness of my walls. Anne has given me some very nice framed photos but they've yet to find a spot on the wall. The pictures from my old apartment are still in a bag tucked away near my closet.
When I pass framed photo stands I'm always drawn to pictures of the Trade Center and of parks. The "New York" section of Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite, when I remember to stop in. I got to thinking, however, that it was a bit silly to think of purchasing photographs of things I could very well take myself.
Here's one I took in Madison Park one Friday afternoon -- before New York's new monsoon season started. Click on the thumbnail above for a larger version. In retrospect I wish I could crop out the two people and the stroller.
